There are hundreds and thousands of supplement companies in the UK, but it is hard to know which ones to fully trust. Nutrition isn’t just something personal, it is also something to be taken very seriously. Therefore, you want to know that the brand you buy from has your interests at heart.

Many people, including myself, will want to buy effective supplements using high-quality plant-based ingredients. And to top it all off, they should be eco-conscious. Because we really don’t need to be buying supplements in single-use plastic bottles anymore!

Ethical Nutrition is a company that has stepped up to meet this demand for quality supplements that are clean, effective, 100% vegan, environmentally friendly, and backed by science.

I first discovered this company when researching vegan omega-3 supplements, and their offering struck me as being some of the best. So, I knew I had to try out more of their supplements to review and share with you.

In this Ethical Nutrition review, I will take a closer look at the brand and its range of products. Within this, I will discuss the manufacturing standards, the ingredients they use, their packaging, and the people behind the brand. Overall, this review aims to provide a comprehensive and unbiased assessment of Ethical Nutrition and its contribution to the plant-based movement and the nutritional space.

My experience with Ethical Nutrition

There are so many reasons to love Ethical Nutrition and its fully vegan range of supplements. I’m going to summarise a few of my favourite things about this brand.

They use clean and effective ingredients

There are, unfortunately, many supplement companies out there selling cheap vitamins made using weak and low-quality ingredients. Not only is this a complete waste of your money, but it can also be harmful to your health.

Cheap supplements may not provide sufficient levels of nutrients, or they may not be bioavailable, meaning they won’t be absorbed by your body. Leaving you susceptible to deficiencies. Additionally, these supplements could be mixed together with additives to help with taste and appearance, but these additives can pose risks to consumers.

Therefore, it is great to have companies like Ethical Nutrition that take their ingredients really seriously. Everything is rigorously tested, and all of their supplements are both additive and palm oil free, containing just the ingredients needed to improve your health.

A good example of how their products shine amongst the rest is with their vegan omega-3 supplement. It contains the highest-strength algal oil that I’ve seen per serving, and I experienced some really impressive changes in my body after a month of taking them. My hair became a lot shinier, and my skin, which is prone to eczema, became a lot clearer. I also get a lot less brain fog when working.

Despite being a high-quality product, they don’t charge over the odds for it. Their pricing is really fair and pretty affordable! Albeit, maybe a little bit more money than a cheap and inefficient supplement company (which makes complete sense!)

Manufactured in gold standard facilities

Ethical Nutrition’s manufacturing site has been awarded the BRCGS accreditation. This is the gold standard for food manufacturing sites.

What this entails is: the strictest hygiene and quality control processes, third-party testing (therefore independently verified), full traceability of raw materials (resulting in consistency in the product), globally recognised certification, and overall manufacturing to the highest possible standard.

For example, if we put a spotlight on their recently launched Lion’s Mane supplement, you will be able to see just how rigorous they are with creating highly effective and clean supplements:

  • Organically harvested in Finland (many other supplements are being grown in mass in less rigorously tested facilities in China)
  • They only use 100% of the fruiting body, never the mycelium or grain
  • They use non-toxic ultrasonic-assisted extraction, rather than heat (which damages the hericenone compound) or harsh solvents (which damage the environment and our health).

They actually use eco-friendly packaging

You’ll likely find a lot of supplement brands advertising their eco-friendly packaging, which is typically sold as ‘plastic-free’ and ‘compostable’. I used to buy from these brands all of the time until one day I was advised that their plastic-free pouches actually contained bioplastics that can’t be home composted, nor thrown in your general rubbish bin.

Hence, why you’ll see it says ‘compostable’ on their packaging, not ‘home compostable’. These really aren’t as eco-friendly as they are made out to be and require specialist waste solutions to dispose of them effectively.

So I am sure you can imagine my delight when I found Ethical Nutrition and their easy-to-recycle glass bottles. These are 100% plastic-free, including the label, lid liner, security seal, and adhesive.

You can also easily recycle glass in your household recycling bin. Much simpler than having to take old pouches to specialist facilities! Also, I like to collect my old glass jars and use them for things in the home, like storage or candles.

Their customer service is second to none

Ethical Nutrition is a family business through and through. It is run by Grace and Mark, a wife and husband team, and they treat all of their customers as if they are part of the family.

I regularly see people online talking about their positive communication with the team at Ethical Nutrition. When someone messages them for help, they will receive quick and useful advice, and more often than not, the team at Ethical Nutrition will follow up with them to see how things are going.

You can see how much they care for their customers, not only in the products that they sell but also with their incredible customer service.

On top of this, they are really knowledgeable in all things nutrition. Mark has studied up to Master’s degree level in nutrition, which really shows in the quality of their service. No over-the-top sales messages, just real human advice from knowledgeable individuals!

A big bonus, they also offer a FREE 15-minute health consultation, which can be booked online. There is absolutely no obligation to buy after this call, and if they think a product from another brand would be more suitable, they will tell you!

My Ethical Nutrition review verdict

It is amazing to see a supplement company actually live up to its promise of providing good-quality, clean and effective supplements in eco-friendly packaging. There is no greenwashing here and no weak, overpriced supplements.

All of their range has been well researched and executed, which becomes really obvious when you start to experience the positive effects of taking their supplements long-term. Moreover, knowing everything is manufactured in BRCGS accredited facilities brings peace of mind!

Whenever you feel a little bit unsure about your nutrition and the supplements you take, you can easily contact the team, and they’ll be on hand to help.

This is a company that truly cares about its customers and the environment! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I hope they continue to grow and become one of the leading vegan-friendly supplement companies.
