I am an incredibly sensitive sleeper. If the slightest thing is off, I’ll be up tossing and turning all night. For example, a limp pillow with absolutely no neck support or a synthetic duvet that gives me static – both would drive me absolutely crazy.
To get a good night’s sleep, I need a pillow that is firm enough to support my neck but also soft enough not to make my face go numb on one side.
I like to sleep on materials that feel smooth on my skin, without causing static or overheating (so it’s a big no-no to synthetic materials).
So, I recently set out to replace all my bedding with natural materials. And that’s when I discovered Ethical Bedding. Known for their use of bamboo and eucalyptus silk, Ethical Bedding creates sustainable, hypoallergenic bedding designed to enhance comfort whilst being kind to the planet.
In this Ethical Bedding review, I’ll be sharing my experience with some of their most popular products – including their Bamboo & Eucalyptus Silk Pillows, Bamboo Pillow Protectors, and Non-Toxic Home Fragrances.
Pros
- Hypoallergenic and non-toxic products
- Use sustainable and natural materials
- Comfortable and luxurious feeling bedding
- Everything is made to a high standard
Cons
- Just 2 firmness options for pillows
- Currently only 2 home fragrance scents

What is Ethical Bedding?

Some key things to know about Ethical Bedding:
- Their fabrics are made from bamboo and eucalyptus fibres, which are naturally breathable, moisture-wicking, and gentle on sensitive skin.
- All materials are sustainably sourced and free from harmful chemicals, with Oeko-Tex certification to ensure safety and quality.
- Their range includes pillows, duvets, bedding sets, protectors, and home fragrances.
My experience
I have been testing out a variety of different Ethical Bedding products, including two pillows (one soft, one firm), pillow protectors and some home fragrances.
I have been sleeping on the pillows with the protectors on, and using the candles and sprays around the house.

Bamboo & Eucalyptus Silk Pillows
I tested both of Ethical Bedding’s bamboo and eucalyptus silk pillows – the soft/medium version for back sleepers and the medium/firm for side sleepers. They are filled with recycled BPA-free PET and bamboo, and covered in the breathable and silky smooth eucalyptus fibre.
As a side sleeper, the medium/firm is perfect for me: supportive with a slight bounce, yet still soft enough to feel luxurious. The softer pillow is too gentle for me to sleep on alone, but it’s great for propping myself up to read or do sudoku before bed.
Both pillows come in reusable storage bags (ideal for keeping them dust-free), though they do arrive wrapped in single-use plastic.
Overall, these pillows feel wonderfully cool and smooth against my skin, and I’ve been getting genuinely restful nights of sleep. They pair beautifully with the matching pillow protectors (more on these below).
If you prefer an extra-firm pillow, these may not be quite firm enough.

Bamboo Pillow Protectors
These bamboo and eucalyptus silk pillow protectors add an extra layer of softness and protection. The ultra-smooth fabric feels just as luxurious as the pillows themselves and is naturally resistant to dust, mites, and mould.
They’re also temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, which has helped to keep me cool and comfortable through the night.
They help extend the life of your pillows whilst keeping them fresh and plush. I’ll make sure to update this blog over time to show how mine hold up!
The fit is snug and doesn’t change the feel or firmness of the pillow, which I really like. Like the pillows, they come in a handy reusable storage bag, a nice touch for keeping everything clean and organised.

Non-Toxic Home Fragrances
I tried both of Ethical Bedding’s home fragrances, the Just James and Natural Cologne scents, in both the candles and the multi-mist sprays.
The candles are hand-poured using a natural soy and coconut wax blend, making them completely vegan-friendly. They’re scented with 100% essential oils and burn evenly, with a strong enough fragrance to fill the room without being overwhelming.
I’ve found they last a good while too, which is always a plus. I just wish there were more fragrance options, maybe something fruity or seasonal for variety.
The matching sprays are lovely for freshening up a room or lightly misting onto linens and bedding. The scent lingers nicely without being too strong, and they pair perfectly with the candles. Again, I’d love to see more scent options in the future.

My Ethical Bedding review verdict
As someone who is incredibly sensitive to pillows, bedding materials, and temperature at night, finding the right combination has always been tricky. Getting a good night’s sleep is something I take very seriously, so I only invest in bedding that actually makes a difference for me, and Ethical Bedding has definitely delivered.
The medium/firm bamboo and eucalyptus silk pillow has been perfect for my side-sleeping needs — supportive yet soft, with just the right amount of bounce. The softer pillow isn’t quite right for sleeping on its own, but I’ve loved using it in addition to the medium/firm pillow to prop myself up for reading or doing sudoku before bed.
Both pillows feel wonderfully cool and smooth against my skin, and the reusable storage bags are a thoughtful addition for keeping them dust-free.
The bamboo pillow protectors are another winner. They add an extra layer of softness and help keep the pillows fresh and plush, without changing the feel or firmness. They’re naturally resistant to dust, mites, and mould, which gives me extra peace of mind, given how sensitive I am, and the fit is snug and comfortable.
The home fragrances, both the candles and sprays in Just James and Natural Cologne, are a lovely finishing touch. The scents are pleasant, natural, and never overpowering, and they pair perfectly with each other. I do wish there were more options, maybe something fruity or seasonal, but these two are already a nice addition to my bedroom routine.
What I love most about Ethical Bedding is that everything is sustainable, hypoallergenic, and genuinely luxurious to sleep on. The only minor drawbacks are that the pillows come in just two firmness options, and the home fragrances are currently limited to two scents.
Overall, I’ve genuinely noticed a difference in how well I sleep, how cool and comfortable I feel at night, and how much I enjoy the tactile luxury of the bedding. I would absolutely buy more of their bedding, and I plan to continue exploring more of their range over time.
